St. George's College The Georgians

The Georgians is the name of the association of former members of the College. From its beginning in 1938, the Association has moved to form a constitution and to have representation on the College Council.

A War Memorial Squash Court was opened in 1959 as a gift of The Georgians to the College in remembrance of those who fought and lost their lives in World War Two.  In 2007, the site of the Squash Court was redeveloped by the College to build the Memorial Wing, a new residential wing for students.

The Association has funded the refurbishing of the Junior Common Room, and has established the Georgian Room. The Georgian Room provides a second dining room and meeting room for the College.

The Georgians provide a "people" resource. Present students have access to a great range of people in all professions. This is of immeasurable value to students who wish to access this resource for their own benefit. The Association holds functions such as an annual cocktail party, dinner and a Business Lunch.

The primary role of the information in these pages is to enable easy contact between Past Residents and St George's College.

Bless 'Em All

Bless 'Em All, a pictorial history of St George's College, is on sale at the College. The book has been produced by the Georgians as one of a number of projects initiated over the past decade, to conserve the heritage of the College. Starting with the preservation of over 200 historic photographs that had been accumulated by the College, the Georgians decided to underwrite a history book capturing 75 years of college life in photographs.  The book can be purchased via the downloadable order form below:
