Can I bring my car?

There are 175 students, several tutors and guests living at the College. There are only 74 parking bays; so parking is at a premium. If there are any bays left, first year country girls are given the first option.

There is parking at the back of the College, although St George's does not guarantee it. However, you are more than welcome to bring a bicycle to College and public transport access is excellent.

Vehicle Parking for Residents and Visitors "A junior member of College in the first year of residence shall be eligible for a College parking sticker subject to available space." (BY LAW 2, 3.4b)

After junior members who are returning to College have been offered car park places, additional permits are offered in the following priority:

  • country women
  • country men
  • outer metropolitan women
  • outer metropolitan men
  • metropolitan women
  • metropolitan men

Motor vehicle registration forms are available from the Office. It is your responsibility to complete this form if you have a vehicle as soon as you arrive in College.

Infringement notices are issued to people who park vehicles within the College grounds without a permit. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and your guests are parked correctly. Do not park for any reason in the taxi bay area at the front of Archway. Residents' cars with permits may be parked only in:

  • Car Park R1 (south of South Wing)
  • Car Park R2 (between Dell Cottage and Mounts Bay Road)
  • Car Park R3 (near the Memorial Squash Court)
