| Part I - Members, Residents and Guests |
|
1.1 The senior members of the College are the Warden, the Sub-Warden, the Chaplain, the resident tutors and fellows of the College. 1.2 A junior member of the College is any person who: (a) is enrolled in The University of Western Australia or in a tertiary institution recognised by the College (b) has signified acceptance of an offer of membership of the College by completing and signing the designated acceptance form (c) has authorised any tertiary institution at which the said person is enrolled whilst a member of the College to make available that person's academic record to and at the request of the Warden or Sub-Warden by completing and signing the designated authorisation form (Schedule A) (d) is currently permitted to reside in the College (e) is not a senior member of the College. 1.3 (b) A resident member of the College is either a senior or a junior member of the College. (c) A non-resident member of the College is either a member or former member of the College Council or a former resident member of the College, so long as such members are not residing in the College. (d) Membership of the College as such carries no rights or privileges, but resident members do have rights, privileges and obligations as prescribed by the Council. (e) A non-resident member of the College who visits the College does so as a guest and is subject to the rules governing the guests of the College. (f) Unless the context explicitly indicates otherwise a reference to a member of the College in the subsequent rules and regulations of this By-Law means a resident member of the College. 1.4 A resident tutor of the College is any person who:- (a) is a graduate of The University of Western Australia or possesses other qualifications considered by the Council to be suitable for the position. (b) has signified acceptance of the offer of membership of the College by completing and signing the designated acceptance form for the position of resident tutor. (c) is currently permitted to reside in the College. 1.5 A resident member has no right to reside in the College beyond the period specified in the acceptance form signed by the said member. 1.6 A resident of the College is either a member of the College, a resident guest of the College, or an employee of the College residing on College property. 1.7 Any resident guest of the College is a guest of the Warden and is subject to all conditions of residence imposed by the Warden. 1.8 Only a resident of the College may invite someone to be a non-resident guest of the College and that resident is fully responsible to the Warden for the behaviour and actions of his or her guest. 1.9 Any resident of the College, non-resident guest or visitor to the College must leave the College if requested by the Warden or his/her nominee to do so. The operation of this provision shall not affect the right of appeal of a member whose residence has been terminated (see 7.7). 1.10 A visitor to the College is any person, not being a member, resident or guest of the College, present in the College grounds or within the Colleges' buildings. |
