St George's College is a foundation of the Diocese of Perth within the Anglican Church of Australia and associates itself with the interests of the Australian Church and its mission to the wider community.

Fostering in students a sense of community, charity, social justice, ethics and care for the environment helps the College to fulfil this mission. It is hoped the College environment will assist students in their personal growth, educationally, spiritually and physically, enabling a discernment of one's place in and contribution to the world. It is anticipated that students of the College will develop their future potential encompassing a profound sense of citizenship, generosity to the underprivileged, and the cultivation of Gospel values in daily and business life. St George's College accepts students who have faith commitments and beliefs other than those of the Anglican Church. It is hoped that, in a genuinely ecumenical spirit, they will contribute to and complement the Christian foundation and character of the College.

The Sub Warden of the College is also an Anglican Priest and a trained Counsellor who is available for counselling on academic, spiritual or life issues. Other Christian staff and students contribute greatly to the Christian life of the College by leadership and lifestyle. Our College motto "To Know God Is To Live" implies fullness of life and celebration as well as suggesting a direction to explore for wholeness of being.

Services are celebrated in the College Chapel throughout the year according to the schedule displayed at the Chapel door. The College Chapel bell rings at the commencement of each service as a witness to the offices held in the Chapel and as a call to join in prayer and reflection as we journey together as a community.

Students from other faiths or colleges and students' families and friends are all welcome to attend the Chapel services.

A thought for your journey
What you are, is God's gift to you.
What you become, is your gift to God!

Counselling and Spiritual Direction

The Chaplain is qualified to offer one on one counsel and spiritual direction. This model of time spent with a religious teacher offers you the chance to take responsibility for the direction of your own life, to reflect on recurring issues, change patterns of behaviour, build confidence or explore your vocation and to grow both in your faith and as an individual. This opportunity is the unique gift of a faith community - to journey alongside each other as we explore together with Christ. Non-believers are equally welcome to address issues of concern without fear of being proselytised. We aim to be as Christ, welcoming, accepting and nonjudgemental.

Student Chapel Services

We hold regular informal and formal chapel services that take place during the year including Morning Prayer in the Chapel Monday to Friday. Whatever your church background, or if you do not have any church background, you are welcome to attend, to question and to explore your own spiritual journey. Services are reflective times to consider your life in the greater context of a spiritual tradition that looks to the future but is grounded in centuries of faith, wisdom and community. For support in your own faith journey join with others to experience companionship on the way.

Holy Communion
All regular communicants of Christian churches are welcome to receive communion if their tradition allows, and every person is always welcome to receive a blessing and prayer during the Eucharist. If you would like to ask about receiving communion, or would like to be confirmed, please ask the Chaplain so that a time for preparation can be arranged.
