St. George's College Part III - Parking

 

 

3.1 The College car parks are:

(a) Car Park (R1) situated below the South Wing of the College.

(b) Car Park (R2) situated between the Sub-Warden's residence and Mounts Bay Road.

(c) Car Park (R3) situated along the exit driveway adjacent to the Squash Court and the Cottage.

(d) Car Park (S) situated towards the rear of the Warden's residence.

(e) Car Park (AV) situated in front of the Warden's Office and adjacent to the Sub-Warden's residence.

3.2 Subject to Clause 3.3 the only vehicles permitted to be parked in the College car parks are vehicles -

(a) Carrying on their front windscreens currently valid parking stickers

(b) Whose owners are engaged in providing goods or services to the College

(c) Of guests for which the Warden or Sub-Warden have given parking permission

(d) Of the Police, Ambulance, Fire Brigade or other emergency services

(e) Of the non-resident guests of the College

(f) Of members of the College Council.

3.3
(a) Car Park (AV) is reserved for the vehicles of the guests of the Warden and Sub-Warden only and in this context "guest" is deemed to include members of the College Council, members of the Board of the College Foundation and the parents or guardians of members of the College whilst such parents or guardians are visiting their children, the Warden or Sub-Warden.

(b) Subject to sub-clause (d) residents of the College are not permitted to park their vehicles in Car Parks (AV) or (S) or in any car parking bays reserved and marked at the request of the College Club for guests of residents.

(c) No vehicle may be parked in any space marked "No Parking" nor in any part of the College grounds other than in one of the College car parks other than one of the vehicles referred to in rule 3.2 (d) of this By-Law.

(d) Only persons explicitly permitted by the Warden to do so may park their vehicles in Car Park (S).

(e) Non-resident guests of the College may park their vehicles only in the parking bays designated for guests and for the duration only of their respective visits to residents of the College.

(f) Members of the College Council may only park their vehicles in the College grounds for the purpose of College business and only for the period of that business.

3.4
(a) Subject to sub-clause (b) a College parking sticker for one vehicle only may be obtained by a resident on registering the make and licence plate number of the vehicle with the College Office. A parking sticker is only valid while the holder is a resident of the College. The sticker must be placed on the lower passenger side of the windscreen and is not transferable to another vehicle.

(b) A junior member of the College in the first year of residence in the College shall be eligible for a College parking sticker subject to available space.

(c) Any resident who owns or has the use of a vehicle while resident at College is required to register the make and licence plate number of the vehicle with the College Office.

3.5 The maximum speed limit for vehicles in the College grounds shall be ten kilometres per hour.

3.6 Any person contravening any of rules 3.1 to 3.5 (inclusive) of this By-Law shall be liable to such one or more of the following penalties as may be appropriate:-

(a) Application of a wheel lock to the offending vehicle.

(b) Such penalties as may be prescribed by the Site By-Laws of The University of Western Australia (see 7.1).

(c) Such penalties as may be prescribed by the City of Perth.

(d) A penalty regarding the parking of vehicles prescribed by the Site By-Laws of The University of Western Australia (see 7.1).

3.7 Where a vehicle has been immobilised with a wheel lock, the lock shall be removed on payment of a service fee. This payment may only be effected when the College Office is open.
